Angry monte carlo?

I just bought my Civic a few days ago from a friend. It's got a few modifications but I don't know what they all are. I know it has a header and exhaust and big muffler, a cold air kit, and a nitrous kit(75 horse). Thats all I can think of now. He's gonna make me a list of all the mods and I'll put them in my sig.
I don't really race but he claims it ran high 13 second times.
Now to my story-I was coming home from school and stopped at a light next to a very sharp Monte Carlo with a wierd hood scoop(really a bulge)in the center of the hood. It was an older guy(late 30's)and he looked over and started smiling and rolled down the window and asked if my "rice!" was fast! This pissed me off real bad! I turned the nitrous on and beat him on the jump but by 2nd gear he came by me chirping the rear tires and whistling like a mofo! The tag said "KILR6"-I thought the Monte Carlo SS had a 300hp 350V8? At the next light I was gonna ask him what the heck was in that thing but when I pulled up he yelled out "You dumba** ricers suck!" and took off smoking the tires. Couldn't hear anything but tires spinning and that damn whistling. Could it have a Vortec on it? Why was he such an a**? He got caught in traffic and I flew by and gave him one of these-

Are you sure it was a Monte Carlo? Sounds like a Grand National to me. The GN's came with a highly turbocharged V6 and ran mid 13's stock. The car itself is awesome, too bad it had to be an ass who owned it. I don't know why he would be so sore towards "rice"(aka Japanese) cars. He must've faced-up against a quiet Supra or RX-7...makes me feel better imagining that...

don't know

It didn't have any stripes or emblems on it and all the trim was black too. I thought Buicks were only old people cars. What would it take for a Civic to beat one? Can it be beat?

Anything can be beat. For a Civic to beat one, you'd have to have at least the WHP of this Civic owner we had posting last year(427HP)...and he ran tens on slicks. A highly modified GN, however, would be VERY hard to beat...I've a seen a street-legal one in Turbo magazine running sevens in track-trim. For any Japanese car to beat it, you'd need one of the big-dogs...Skyline, Supra, 3000GT, RX-7, 300ZX...except for the RX-7, all six-cylinder turbo cars like the GN with RWD or AWD like the GN(RWD) or the GNX(AWD).

As for current members, hybridsol has a CRX that could probably beat the one you faced.

It was a Gran National

I went to get breakfast early this morning with my dad and guess what is sitting outside-that a**hole black car. I didn't see him till he walked up to our table and I thought oh crap this old geezer is gonna start some crap! He was coming to talk to my Dad! They have been working in the same place a few years. Turns out he knew who I was the other day and was just messing with me-my Dad got a BIG laugh out of that. He's a pretty cool guy but I had to find out what the he** was in that monster.
It has a 3.8 series 2 engine with ported aluminum heads by Champ,70 something turbo, chip,no nitrous(I think it's hid),295/50 tires. My Dad had went to a race with him in GA last weekend while I was at my brothers. He said it went 10.5** something without good traction. If traction was better he would have used his trans brake-what is that?
I did go for a ride in it though-OMFG!!!!!! My neck still hurts it breaks th tires loose in 2nd gear at 35mph with all three of us in it! My Dad said it ran the times he said and they drove it to the race and back. When I get gray I want one!

Hehe.. GNX is not AWD. Still RWD like the rest of the 26,555 Turbo Regals that were sold in 87.

Lol. For some reason, I always thought that "X" meant it was AWD, although I have never seen one with it. I just remembered that the GNX's had the better turbo set-up-something-or-other.

About the current member things, I was thinking more along the lines of Hondas and Civic's since fastazzhonda was asking how a Civic could beat one. But then again, if the GN's running tens...it's still only hybridsol's REX that could beat it, since he beat that Hemi that ran 10.1...unless you have improved since the last time you posted your times, Self and DOHcNEON.

Shit. I think I just dimed hybridsol out...he likes to keep quiet about his REX's performance it seems. Sorry Sol...
