Sorry to burst your bubble but I am in the army and they try they're hardest to not pay bounus's plus believe me finding time to work on your car is a pain, like when your deployed for months at a time like I am now.The good thing is you don't have to pay annoying things like rent so it free's up some dough and most post have full automotive facilities for you to use!

dont you think his car will be faster with a $3500 turbo setup than a $3500 swap?

Whether you get deployed or go to the field thats dependent on what job you choose. I have been in 7 years now and have never been deployed, and have spent a total of 22 days in the field. Housing yea ok, but I pay a mortgage, so theres more money gone. Yea they pay some of your housing cost but not all. And bonuses once again are based on what job you pick.. Reclass if you don't like what you do.

faster>>yes
unreliable for daily driver>>>yes (i'm sure many will argue this point)
2 much responsability involed w/turbo...
if he does'nt mind tuning all the time it's a better set-up speed wise..

ahh so putting a junkyard engine and tranny in will be more reliable? get a supercharger if turbo is too much work... then youll get more bottom end too... if you had the money

like shep said it will be faster than a swap. like if you put a b18c1 in there it turns into a gsr integra, which runs low 15s, so he will only run low 15s. but with the turbo he will run high 14s. i know its not that much of a difference but like he said, he doesnt have much money so he wants as much power as he can with spending the least amount of money. and a turbo is the fastests cheapest way he can go.

i think it will be realiable if he stays under 4k when daily driving. i mean if hes teh kinda guy that spends more time in 4k and above when daily driving then yes its not realiable.

but its true that theres alot of responsibility involved with a turbo. and tuning wise well if hes only running 7psi then tuning is not required as much as say if he was running 16psi. usually with teh turbo computer you get, thats pretty good.

as for the supercharger, well if your talking about a vortech then its just as hard as a turbo to maintain. if your talking about a jrsc then thats maintaince free supercharger but i got 3 friends all of them had jrsc's but all of them broke on them. but just to let you know, these guys were hardcore racers and redlined there car everynight. so if you dont drive like that then maybe its ok
