08 LS3 33k mi engine light meaning

before I have the code read, what is the usual reason for the engine symbol dash light or it could be hundreds of different ones? All guages as well as display gauges read normal.

On a C6 it could anything. Loose gas cap is the more common CEL for all cars but most Corvette owners are very particular about the Vettes.

Thanks. Turns out it that the error code showed Banks 1 and 2 running lean. Dealer told me not to worry about it since he says you get this code sometimes when the gas used is not close enough to 92 octane. However, that is all I have ever put in it.

Hey CJ, I am a 8 year GM technician, I am Corvette certified and I do ALOT of driveability concerns. They are giving you a bunch of bullshit!! Running gas thats less then 92 octane does not cause a lean codition on both banks. Sorry just does not happen. There are about 3 bulletins that cause this concern. Send me a PM and I will email you the bulletins for your reference. Has the light gone out or come back on???

Thanks Firehawk97. The light goes does not stay on all the time. Besides a PM being "Preventative Maintenance" do you mean "personal mail" ? If so, mine is [email protected]. The other concern could be that it is still under the 3yr /36k warranty. Not sure how that affects the service department at the dealer chasing something like this. Any guidance would be appreciated.
