Angry Error code 35

I have a co-worker who has a 89 grand am w/2.3 quad 4, vin # "D". The motor just started to rev to 4k. then it drops to 2500 and then back up to 4k again. Several things have been replaced ie computer, idler control valve, map sensor. The fuel pump was changed ~ 100 miles before this started happening. And it happened on a trip while driving.

This motor does not have an egr or pcv valve.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Email me at [email protected] with your ideas.

Thank you,

Rich

error code 35 on a quad 4 is an idle speed error. Code 35 will set when the closed throttle speed is 300 RPM above or below the correct idle speed for 5 seconds. Replace the IAC.
