Need somebodys expertise I am hoping to get some sort of answer or clue. This really has me stumped. This same thing happened on my 99 Intrigue years ago but was never diagnosed and stopped doing it around the time the MAF was changed. The current car I'm having this problem on is a dodge but the dodge doesnt have MAF sensors. Also I dont think the dodge section of AF is very popular. I didnt want to post my ?'s about a dodge in the olds category so I figured I would try posting the link hopeing to get some info and help from the smartest group on AF. IF anybody has any input on the problem at the link it would be appreciated as the car is just parked all lonely.

Re: Any input on this??
My only recommendation is to find an actual Stratus/Dodge forum. I googled "stratus forum" and got half a dozen or so results. Surely their must be an active community somewhere.
Other than that Ive got nothing for ya, I dont know a thing about them. I would assume you have good fuel pressure if youre able to reach 4k rpms, but it might not hurt to check just to rule it out.

Re: Any input on this??
If you really don't know what to do what i can suggest here is contact an expert or mechanic, if you do it by yourself without any assurance or knowloedge about the problem you might put your car into risk and get more expenses that the usual. Go and find a solution from a mechanic and ask an advice as well..

Re: Any input on this??
Thanks, both good ideas the more I thought about the problem I am starting to think its the transmission. I am still interested in figuring out why my 99 Intrigue did the same thing for a while just to know what it was. But it did stop so I dont know if it's worth investigating further just to find an expensive repair.lol. It's time to just drive her til it stops.

Re: Any input on this??
Just an update! We did figure out what was wrong. Some of the sites you guys led me to had some useful info. It was the catalytic converter. Took out the old one and it is working now. Just have to put the new one in thank you guy's for the help though it was very much appreciated. For a while I was starting to think it was the trans.
