dealer markup

its gonna be really scary how much dealers are gonna add to the Elise...a friend of my dads went to the local lotus dealer and placed an advanced order..but the guy told him he couldnt take it..for some odd odd bizarre reason. But then he asked how much it would be if he bought it when it came to the dealer...and the salemen said...oh around 58,000. I told him today..it should only base @ about 38

thats insane

I don't think that Lotus will be using the current dealer network. I believe that they will be opening dedicated dealerships when they launch the Elise for the US. Price gouging is not in the best interest of Lotus. I am sure that they will do everything in their power to prevent it.

Heck, they want to come back to the US by storm, and that won't happen if the gouging occurs. Lotus's sales in the US for the last 15 years has been a real embarrassment to the UK HQ. They want to get back into the market badly and find a replacement for the worn out Espirit.

JMO.

ya but the Elise revolutionized the Lotus authority in the UK and Europe..from what i heard there are Elise's everywhere..and yes they should have let the Elise come over here earlier..because as of now...the only cars you can buy here are old school ones or a used 340R and the Esprit and Elan..but we cant get the newest one the Elise

they should have done it years before

and btw..the Esprit is not old and worn out

Yeah come on say that to my face!

We should just import them when they come out, no one would notice.

Joking.
