my man, sorry 2 say but itz gonna costya a pretty penny 2 get dat engine, U gotta know dat thiz iz 1 of da best>if not thee best thing 'bout da Max n da 1st place.
U'll b fortunate 2 get a 4th gen mota 4 no less than 2200 but then U still gotta factor n nstallation which means laba & u lookN at at least 3550 fully nstalled unless u do it yo'self.

I know a guy at a local auto parts store who said he was gonna try a VQ35DE swap into his '97 Max. AS far as dimensions go, I think it would fit, but I don't know a whole lot about the Maxima plumbing, he may have just been talking a big game. Anyways, like BK said, you'd be lucky to get a VQ30DE for 2200, especially if you go with a remanufactured engine. Check out precisionengine.com for a rough idea on pricing.
