@ Drift F.C : you might be right concerning the faux fabric, but I'm still in the idea of giving it a try one of these days.

Sorry for the progress being so slow these days, but we have a really heavy period at work right now, couldn't get my hands on the model for a full week.

Only thing I managed to do is modify the OEM muffler to re-create Greddy Ti-C model. For now it's still a piece of plastic, still have to paint it.

Hopefully, this week will be quieter and I should be able to show up some more progress.

Shouldn't be sorry, a lot of us others should be. Sucks man i havne't been able to sit down and build in such a long time. It happens man, sneak it in whenever you can.

Thanks for the comments, you're right it's not always easy to find some time so let's enjoy the one we have.

Sure, I plan on painting them Alcald chrome with black housings+some very light color accents to simulate the different bulbs. Don't know if I will succed in doing what I have in mind, but if it's the case they should look pretty good.

Finally found some time to work a little on the teg, so here is a quick update.
Unfortunately, it won't start with good news as I test fitted all parts this morning and just realised that my rollcage can't fit in the car...

You can call me stupid, I finally understood where my mistake was, I made my rollcage using the inside of the bodyshell as reference, and it fits perfect... as long as you don't put the windows in.

Fujimi glass parts are so thick (as most model windows, anyway, nothing wrong with fujimi) that it's simply impossible to make the rollcage come in, despite there was a good margin between the rollcage and the bodyshell.

Quite impossible to modify what I've already done before, so here is where I am right now on this, must admit it's a bit despairing somehow.
Anyway, I started working with styrene this time, it will make things a lot easier.



I should finish it this evening, then will have to prime+paint black+paint chrome+paint blue until it's finished. Anyway, this time I'm sure it WILL fit inside the car.

Another mod I wanted to do is on the exhaust, as any modified DC2 won't run the standard muffler. As I told you earlier, I decided to go for a Greddy Ti-C exhaust, here it's how it looks on a teg:


Here is the one I made from styrene, the original muffler aside.




Once primed.


Made some canards in styrene , just to be sure to get a good traction. They will finish in CF.


I kept on working on the undercarriage, weathering looks a bit heavy in picture, but after all it ain't a showcar, it's a daily drive. Still have to add fuel/brake lines before I can finish mounting all the suspension and exhaust items. Sometimes I have the feeling that the chassis is going to be the nicest, most detailed, best worked ... and less visible part of this project.


And last but not least, body has been decaled and cleared with Tamiya X-22+laquer thinner. I had some little dust problems, so I will have to sand it back again and give it another clearcoat, nevertheless I'm happy.








Not pictured here, I also started reworking the original brakes as they just look too small to stop anything that has so many bhps under the hood.
