Cool 1996 B4000 4WD ExCab 5spd

I found a really impressive looking Mazda truck but I'm hesitant because of the high mileage(144,000miles). Pictures sent to me show the body to be nearly pristine. Underbody/frame has usual surface rust but without checking in person, doesn't appear to be rotted. Owner says it's rot free, body like new, runs like new. The car I have now only has 95,000 miles, so I'm leary of the miles on this truck. Am I being too cautious? Are there known problems with these trucks I should be aware of? All help and input would be appreciated.

Well i've never been a fan of Ford made vehicles, but my wife's 98 B4000 seems to be alot more reliable than my past GM cars. It just turned over 144000 a week or so ago, and then we just drove it over 1000 miles down to Mississipi without problems. AC still works great too, its one of the few Ford made vehicles I like. Other people have told me that they're pretty good trucks. Decent power too

the one I drive now has about that mileage on it and from what I hear it will go a lot further. I found a B4000 later model than mine on this site http://nabacar.com but it was yellow. The dealer ship was selling it for $4300 and it looked great. I would just have to get used to yellow. I paid more for my 97 model than that used. I would say you are being to cautious on the truck you are looking at. My 97 model has the problem all of them did with the front bearings and poor 4x4 hubs. I have replaced parts. the later model is the better one and that is why I want to buy another truck and sell mine I have now. I cannot update it with the later stuff they tell me. I have to live with it.
