2000 GP door locks,speedo,air bag light,MPG display,etc

1. girlfriends car

2. rainy day

3. ABS and check engine light have been on (and off) for awhile(months) I am told.

4. today the door locks were locking/unlocking by themselves, the speedo had stopped working once or twice, the MPG display was flickering as well as the radio, the air bag light would come on when it was glitching and then off when it stopped glitching. She said that earlier in the day the engine did not seem very powerful, like it did not want to go , but it did.

5. When I drove it the door locks, air bag light, MPG display and radio glitched for a few seconds when I first started driving. After that it cleared and the only thing was the MPG display. The buttons on it worked cause when it would go out I tried pressing the mode buttons and when the display came back on it had changed modes. It continued to flicker the whole time pretty much, random times and timing.

6. I assume she drove through some pretty big puddles today and that is what is causing it at this point. Just wondering if anyone had any similar problems or suggestions. I read elsewhere that it could be something with the abs sensor/boot/connection. Just havent had a chance to check anything yet. just a quick test drive.

welcome to AF

Does it only do this on rainy days, or does it do it randomly?

well it started on a rainy day but does it intermittently still now that it has been dry for a day or so. she does also get the traction light and airbag light on, loss of ecceleration at low throttle. Does pick up though. Also when it glitches it kills radio, door locks, windows, map lights, sun roof, compass. I hate these ones will not do it one time and the next time it glitches continuously.

you have all the symptoms of a bad ignition switch/harness.

Thanks for the reply. I assumed as much, just have to start pulling and checking connectors I guess.
