Orgran donations, have you signed your donor card?
Just wondering what people thing in regards to organ donation? Should it be mandatory like several South American countries (i.e. your organs are presumed to be donated unless you state otherwise) or do you think it should be up to people to indicate their willingness to donate?
With so many people needing organ donations to survive, how would you propose to increase the number of available organs? Myself, I would prefer to go to someone with a illness, versus some alcohal drinking fruit, who drank his gut away. But overall, yes, I am a donor.

It's an option on the New Zealand drivers' licence...I will be dead,so I am not particularly bothered if they want to break me up for spares.
Not too sure if I'd want to be used for research/instruction purposes though.

I am not a donor and wont be. Of course I'll donate a kidney to a relative if they can find any who need one (I'm adopted so I have no blood relations that I know of). You may ask why. Because of money. If they will pay my family for my organs then I'll let them go.
Before anyone jumps off the handle (again) remember that we already do get paid for body parts. Blood, sperm, eggs, plasma, marrow and more and more people get paid to take part in experimental drugs which I consider giving your whole body away. What would be so wrong about getting money for the parts? If you feel that the rich shouldn't get your body parts then specify that you want yours to go to the first intravenous drug using HIV positive middle eastern prostitute who needs it. Its your body, you should be able to do with it as you please.

When they stick me into the hole in the ground, I am going to be selfish and want all of me in the box. I don't want bits of my serum floating about in some laboratory refrigerator, nor do I want the eyes that I have surveyed the world and witnessed the joy and sadness of my life being used as a science lesson and the last thing I want is have some internal organs of mine inserted to prolong the life of someone I find repugnant. Seeing as I don't get a say in who gets what - I'd rather none of the bits went to anyone.
Nor do since I do not have children and haven't decided to have kids yet do I want my DNA being used for someone that I don't have any input into raising. Nor do I want the bits of my concussion-shaken brain being used as a laboratory exhibit. I came into this world with all my bits and I'll be damned if I leave my earthly tenure without all of my bits intact.

I'm a donor.
I want to be parted out like an old car. If some part of me will help someone else get a few more miles out of their jalopy, then by all means, they can have it.

I'm gonna be selfish on this one. Like replicant said.....I came into this world with all my bits and pieces and I'm leaving with every single little peice...Is it wrong to be selfish about this?

I'm with Ci5ic. What am I going to need my parts for anyway? I would rather they fixed me up, but if they can't get me running again, they can part me out. It's not so wasteful that way.
