Re: 1:24 MGB Roadster
Great Looking Model.....I really like the blue you painted it and a fine job on the detail...I have a friend that owned one and he was heart broken when he had to get rid of it....

Re: 1:24 MGB Roadster
I agree! Can I ask what paint it is Paul?
Lovely build all round! I have one of these in the to do pile (together with a Sprite!) & really must get around to building them! Look forward to seeing your Sprite finished! Keef |

Re: 1:24 MGB Roadster
You don't even see nearly enough MGs in scale. Hell, there aren't enough British cars in scale! What a great model, it looks beautiful! I love the tonneau cover, great! Was that a kit part? Your build really captures the look right on. The only thing I can say is that the bottom isn't nearly enough covered in oil. Great work!

Re: 1:24 MGB Roadster
Thanks for the comments - all your encouragement is very much appreciated!
Keef - the colour is a Ford one, from a Halfords spray can. Can't remember the exact name, but I chose it as it wasn't too far from the BMC Speedwell Blue that early MGBs were available in, as I wanted it to be a more unusual colour than tartan red or BRG!! The Sprite won't be finished for quite a while as I have a backlog of other half built kits to clear first. It is one of two Gunze Frogeye kits that I'm building, the other will keep the kit's bodywork, but have full engine detail & opening panels (the engine being from a Tamiya Mini Cooper), whilst the one pictured in the WIP thread is being converted into a Mk2 Sprite like my 1:1 (in my sig pic). It will probably be curbside, but I'll see how the detailed Frogeye build goes, & then decide whether I'm up for repeating all the scratchbuilding etc! The 1:1 will hopefully be back on the road soon after 5 years but that's another story... willimo - thanks! The different tonneau cover options were both kit parts - very thoughtful of the kit makers. I'm pretty sure that I didn't modify anything at all in fact, and all the parts fitted together well. The kit also included the later rubber bumpers, reverse lights, later boot handle, and a third windscreen wiper for the later setup (USA only??). However it doesn't include any other dashboard options, as IIRC, there were two later style dashboards, one being specifically for the US market.
