Make sure 4W switch is not stuck on or shorted.
If not.
You may need a new turn signal switch

Well better fix the grounds.
Bad ground will do sll kinds of strange things.

Yes they have modjulator valves.

What transmission do you have?

If OD trans it may be a 700-R4 which does not have a modulator valve.
But a tv cable that needs checked and may need adjusted.

A pan gasket ID will tell you what transmission you have.

Re: signal light repair

Be very careful with any adjustments to the TV valve cable. The trans relies upon the TV inner and outer spool positions to modulate line pressure against the governor. Incorrect adjustment can cause under pressure and clutch damage or over pressure can cause harsh shifts, hard parts damage, and servo seal failures.

As for the rear cab window, it has been my experience that usually a piece of firewood or that last 2x4 on top of the pile is all that's necessary to take out the glass. I know the newer ones are bonded in with sealer, but I'm not sure about the '88.

It is not a passing gear.
It is a the throttle valve pressure adjustment cable.
The tab you push in unlocks it.
You release the tab when you get it set where it should be.

First setting is full pull at wide open throttle.

Or set it at more than full pull and the lock it and mash peddle wide open and it should self adjust.
To first setting then fine tune it it correct shift pattern.
