1982 Toyota PU Shifting Problem
Have a 1982 Toyota PU - 4WD - 23,000 original miles - Clutch has gone "soft" on it - It goes basically to the floor with no resistance. Transmission engages instantaly upon releasing pressure on the clutch - Cannot engae first gear, can force into second and then can up shift to fifth but no downshifting - Trying to determine if clutch or transmission problem or combination of both.

Re: 1982 Toyota PU Shifting Problem
23,000 miles?
Have you tried bleeding the clutch just to make sure it's not air in the line?
