New modelling mag

Hi everyone, I recently came across this new modelling magazine, it covers general modelling including quite a bit automotive stuff, not just rusty old tanks!!! it is a very nicely designed magazine and is printed on some quality paper, feels far more professionally produced than the Tamiya magazine, which in my opinion is looking a bit dated these days, any way check it out, here is a link to it. seems very hard to get a hold of in the shops though, ordering online was how I received mine. let me know what anyone else thinks.
Cheers

Re: New modelling mag

I have 2 issues of max and while the pics and builds are first-rate i can do without all the sci-fi and figure painting stuff. Excellent photos though but still not all about cars.
I like to build race cars and tamiya seems to focus on those a lot less these days.
It seems like scale auto doesnt even touch the stuff. They always have rat-rods and gassers...all the vintage builds.Every now and then they will do a ferrari or porsche.

Re: New modelling mag

Yea I agree mate, more automotive stuff is defo the way too go! Bikes are really my thing, but I agree about scale auto, hot rods and choppers are not really my cup of tea either. Sports Bikes and sports cars of any kind are what I am really after, although I do appreciate any model that is well done, I think we can learn from all areas of modelling and transfer techniques too what we really like doing. The mag is definately general modelling so I guess we'll just have to put up with the sci-fi stuff, It is extremely well done and photographed though.

Re: New modelling mag

I bought the first issue of this when it came out, it's a nice effort but lacks substance. The articles are too heavy on finished pictures and not enough written about building the kit.

Funny that this has been mentioned....

If you want to see more car related content in this mag then speak up. The editor has asked me to ask around amongst my contacts for contributions. If you are interested in putting together an article - decent quality pics of in progress and finished model along with a few paragraphs are all that's needed. They pay quite well and you'll be able to buy more than a few new model kits to keep you going for the rest of the year. My S2000 build from a few years back is in the latest issue and plan to make more contributions when I can.

Send me a PM if you are keen to get your models published and I will pass on to the ed.

Yah, I'd put my hand up Chris, but at the rate I've been building...it may be out of circulation by the time I finish one....
