Create Weep Holes on Doors?

Although some people claim there are weep holes at the door bottoms, I have not been able to find them. Now I'm starting to get rust on the door bottoms, just as many PAs I've seen have the same problem.

Has anyone here drilled any weep holes or found some other solution?

Thank you.

Re: Create Weep Holes on Doors?

The problem with that idea is the trim is the bottom of the door, not the sheet metal.

I started a thread on this about 6 months ago. I too am looking for a solution.

Can't believe we build cars for 100 years and they come up with this assbackwards idea. Dummies.

Re: Create Weep Holes on Doors?

I have been using a rust converting product. Every spring I pull the door mouldings, clean them out and paint this rust converter on the bottom of the doors. I also have some rust on the seams of the doors. I think at sometime in the future I will have to replace the door skin or the door itself on the right front, as this is the worst of all four of my doors. I have seen a few park avenues with the right door replaced. The rust converting product is only slowing down the process....not stopping it.

Question Re: Create Weep Holes on Doors?

I'm thinking that about 1" or so above the very bottom of the door where the metal flares out, I could drill some holes there. It certainly would not be as good as weep holes at the very bottom, but at least there would be some evaporation thru the holes.

Any thoughts on this idea?

Thanks.
