Re: Cayman Interseries | modern racers with historic liveries

Hi,

here is what happened up to now:

the "steps" between the colours were sanded, clear is on, now the decals are the next task

Re: Cayman Interseries | modern racers with historic liveries

@chkltcow: thanks for the pix

@sportsracer: looks good, great design

body is polished, decals are ALPS/OKI, no pixel colors, its a real brown

next step,
this is my way to lower modelcars

1.The rear of the brakes is sanded down and they are glued into the wheels

2.
A little piece of sheet is glued to the lower part of the shock absorber, where you usually glue the wheels in. With the thickness of the sheet you can vary,
how deep the wheel sits in its wheel well (Cayman front 0,5mm, rear 1mm)

3. Than I glue 3 wheels into the wheel wells, that they have a good fit

4. When they are dryed, I turn the model on its 3 wheels and glue the fourth wheel that way to the car, that it stands on all 4 wheels.

Quick but effective way you found Mike, to achieve a great set-up. Great job on all the liveries I seen.

I think what Gio meat was a quick solution, since the actual modification requires casting of clear parts or vacuum forming, and that involves a lot more work.

The 2006 and 2009 Cayman feature plenty differences:

not impossible to replicate, but not a so easy task…

Micha > Nice job on the refining of your livery. I guess I already asked for… waterslide decals or your own custom made graphics?

Mike > Dazzling shine! Very sharp decals. I like your simple but effective system to place the wheels. Did you grind down the rear tires to obtain the same diameter of the front ones?

TBH I didn't studied deep enough the trouble: the tailight shape is quite different, those small changes that would make you nut, much more than massive bodikits when would be hard compare shapes....

Ok, don't we like the challenges?

Robi: fancu... fantastic LOL there are some jobs.... I'm wondering if it is worth
