2002 pontiac grand prix climate control unit

for some reason my passenger side of the car only works on ac and the driver only works on heat. to get it to change i have to play with the temp selectors then it changes over. is the heater controll unit going bad?

it could be the heater control unit or the actuators themselves. The actuators are a higher probablility, but either could cause your symptoms.

I would first try unplugging the fuse that powers all that stuff and then plugging it back in. The actuators get out of whack and this resets them.
