Re: 2003 gmc sierra instument cluster

There is a recall on most GM trucks that year range for up to 100K miles. Most of the time, the speedo or temp gauge will fluctuate or completely stop working all together. The stepper motor behind the gauges that control the needles go out. You can sometimes send it off for repair to get the stepper motors replaced but that takes down time for you to send of the IPC. Best thing would be to take it to a GM dealer and have a new cluster put in and programmed. I believe labor on programming it is 1 hour so check with your local dealer to get an exact price. As far as the price of the IPC, its about $225 cost at the dealer, but thats my price since I am a GM employee, not sure how much list on it is. I'm guessing around $300 or so? But before you can get a new IPC, you have to have the number off the back of your IPC, should be big numbers and easy to see. Hope this helps!
