Hi all, this is my first WIP here, so I'll try my best to make something clear, c&c welcome.

This is the fujimi kit that everyone knows


After a little work, everything is mocked-up with white glue




Everything looks very nice, except the ride height that looks like a SUV


So I decided to modify this. Hopefully I found a very good tuto here on how to lower a ride height.
Btw, I would like to use the occasion to thank all the people that wrote tutorials here, I really learned a bunch of tips.

So here is the result, modified suspension (right) vs original one (left)


Modified the subframe as well, just cut it half way, bend it and glued it at the correct angle.
Below is a pic where you can see the cuts, though I forgot to take an "after" pic.


Used the same technique for the front suspension, and here is the final result, looks much more convincing to me.

Great work on lowering it! Simple but very effective - and those are the best solutions. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do here!

Thanks willimo. To give you an idea, I wanted to build it straight OOB, but I actually changed my plans for a mild track day racer, with some modifications here and there.

Small update for today, bodyparts are in primer. I did no modifications on these except shaving the "H" badges as I will use PE ones.



The recaro SRDs from Fujimi are quite awful, I couldn't decently paint them like that, so I began reworking them.

I still have to drill the holes for the harnesses the right way, and do a little sanding on the shape.

New wheels are on their way too, I hope the post service won't lose them.

Paying attention to the details like the height and the seats will surely make this a great model when completed.

Here is a small update of the week-end work:

- Seats modified with harness passage like original ones and primed (unfortunately no pics for now as I forgot to take some )

- Body painted:




I know it's just the billioneth white ITR showing up here, but I just love white tegs, so my choice was easily made.
Though I still didn't have decided if I will put some carbon parts here and there or not. CF is already ordered, I will probably take the decision at the last minute, as ever

- Chassis has been painted white too, and I just painted the fuel tank semi-gloss black. Maybe to shiny for my taste, but with a decent weathering it should be ok.


- Last but not least, new rims have arrived. As ever I was too carried away to take a "before" picture, but here is how they look like now:

It's Fujimi's Enkei RP-F1, 17 inches. They came out of the box with gold color, but I prefered respraying them once again with semi-gloss black. I removed (by drilling) the hub cap and made some red anodised lug nuts, result is not so bad.

That's all for today, I'm still waiting for some piping to make a nice rollcage, as ever positive or negative feedback is always welcome

I already made the harness openings, but I must admit it's kind of easy to get some details on these seats as I have my back in them every day in my real ride.

You're right, seeing your DC2 it seems we love the same kind of ride. Funny there are 3 DC2s at build at the same time here.

If, for a long time since I last saw DC2 building and now there are several!

I also see every day of my Ek9's Recaro 1:1, I love them!
And I also had CRX Si 91 in 1998, my adoration!

I changed the engine three times, japan Doch ZC, B16A and b20!

This is gonna be super clean when it is finished. The rims will look sharp. Cant wait to see what you do with the roll cage

Looking good, nice job on lowering, well worth it, why do Fujimi nearly always have such high ride heights?
