Impala Police car rims
How to recognize the difference from a regular 2000-05 Impala steel wheel to a Police steel wheel?

Re: Impala Police car rims
The police wheels weight .5 pounds more, and have three small holes drilled around the hub to attach the center cap.

Re: Impala Police car rims
Thanks for the reply Flylow. It seems like I do not have original cop car wheels. Or at least not a cop car with the small center hub caps.
I do have the 3 holes but they are not drilled to the proper size.

Re: Impala Police car rims
My dad drilled and tapped the holes for the caps on our '03 base. No I just need to replace the lugs and repaint the wheels.

Re: Impala Police car rims
I ended up tapping the holes out too. The only thing I found odd was it was really easy to tap for threads. I didn't even drill. Just put the tap in my cordless drill. Holding on the smooth part of the tap. Threaded them out with one easy squeeze of the trigger. The metal there seemed REALLY soft.
Snugged up the bolts and I now have centre caps.
