Head gasket

When installing a new head gasket do I need to use any gasket sealant?Or could I simply place the gasket over the block and then place the head over it?

Re: Head gasket

If there was anything that needed to be applied to the head gasket there would have been instructions with the kit if you went with an aftermarket one. I don't recall using anything on any GM head gasket.
