95 buick park avenue ignition locked, broke wheel pin that locks by forcing it

I turned my steering wheel past the pin, and now my ignition will not turn. If i remove the pin, will it release the ignition. I am unable to do anything with this paper weight, and need an answer asap. someone wants to drill the ignition out, but i was told that wasn't a good idea. i believe i bent the pin, and just want to know if grinding the pin, will release the ignition. I know that the wheel will not lock if i do this, but that is the least of my problems at this time. any opinion would be appreciated. thank you.
