Cool fuel pump has no power 96 dodge ram 5.9l

the fuel pump 30amp fuse blew on this 5.9l gas dodge ram here.

when i looked at the fuel pump i see no power coming to the connector with the key on or key start.

I swapped out the blown fuse and it good now. The fuel pump relay I swapped out too.

I heard there might be a second fuse some where?

I don't know of a 2nd fuse. The fuel pump only runs a few seconds with the keyswitch On unless the engine starts then it'll stay on. Are you checking the power at the fuel pump?

yes I am checking power at the fuel pump.
I might not have a good ground on my test light.

I tested power at the fuel pump fuse and i saw power. I also saw power on one leg on the fuel pump relay.

is there something I can do to test the connector to make sure the fuel pump is getting power before I buy another fuel pump?

You might have an assistant turn the keyswitch on while you're holding your testlight on the positive wire on the connector. It should come on for a second. It needs to be the pump wire and not the fuel level sensor wire.

Re: fuel pump has no power 96 dodge ram 5.9l

Because a fuse was popped makes me wonder about a possible short between the relay and the pump. If the short was stout enough, it may have burned the wire in two or melted a wiring connector/splice, opening the circuit.
You might run a wire with an inline fuse from the battery to the fuel pump just to test if the pump will run...be careful.
