2000 Grand Prix Squealing once warm

I have a 2000 Grand Prix GT 3.8L, I just had the power steering pump changed as it was dying. I have checked the belt to ensure that it is tight, but when the car gets up to normal operating temperature it starts squealing like the belt is slipping. This happens if it is in park or drive, in motion or idle. The pitch never changes but it does tend to go away when accelerating. It starts back up after I have reached my desired speed.

I really need help figuring this out. Please Help

Welcome to AF!

Pump noises usually change pitch with both engine RPM and while turning the steering wheel. Same for belt slippage and idler/tensioner pulley issues.

Have you done any other work on the car like a tune-up to include PCV valve? Since the noise doesn't change with RPM but goes away at low engine vacuum (during hard acceleration) it sounds like a vacuum leak (due to possibly a missing PCV sealing o-ring) and unrelated to the power steering pump.

I just went out and checked the PCV valve and o-ring and it seems fine, no restricted movement and the o-ring is in great condition.

how does your serp belt look? Is it shiny on the back (flat side) or can you see metallic particles in the grooves or do the raised ribs of the belt come to really sharp points? As the car is idling, can you see the belt tensioner jumping around?

Also, on the PCV valve, are you talking about the orange o-ring at the top of the housing, or the black one that goes on the valve itself before you set it down in the hole in the intake?
