Something like that I expected.

I,ll answer this in here, instead of the 04R thread.

The "Logica" sponsorship was on the Gulf GTR,s for the Brands Hatch round only, as per this article from the Brands programe. So those pics must have been taken in 96, around the time of that round of the BPR series.

I enjoyed that day, spectacular viewing of the GTR,s all around the GP circuit and the noise of the BMW V12, out the back of the circuit amongst the tree,s was just awesome .

Enjoy .

Yep, no Logica or Bay Networks in the next round of BPR'96 in Spa!

Brands Hatch vs. Spa (click click!)

Re: GTR Racing Livery - Index (56k beware!!)

Nothing earth shattering here, but since shots of the Martin Veyhle Racing livery on #06R are fairly rare I figured I'd add these 'new' ones I found on RacingSportsCars.com.

Speaking of that website - I found their list of GTR chassis numbers to be somewhat humorous as it shows a 29R:

http://www.racingsportscars.com/type.../F1%20GTR.html

I'll be sending the webmaster a note to fix it now.

Re: GTR Racing Livery - Index (56k beware!!)

Another image found on RSC.com shows the two FINA GTRs at the Nurburgring in 1997 wearing very unique rear wings with full length black endplates. I didn't recall ever seeing them on the cars before, but when skimming through my photos I did find them in one other shot.

Re: GTR Racing Livery - Index (56k beware!!)

And it still finished 11th...

Sami's favorite - GTR #16R at Silverstone in 1996. Jacques Laffite and Marc Duez were the drivers - not certain who is responsible for this. I had not seen the image previously.

Re: GTR Racing Livery - Index (56k beware!!)

^^^^ It was Laffite who drove off after mistakenly selecting first gear and spinning the car into the gravel. Lost 7 laps in the process getting back to the race.

Re: GTR Racing Livery - Index (56k beware!!)

You know next time I try to be funny I will be sure to look in the right place for my 'facts'.

I've only just realized that the poster included with "Driving Ambition" has the driver's names and results in reverse for Silverstone with #16R and #17R. They show #16R finishing 4th with Soper and Piquet.

QV500.com has repeated this error as well.

Thanks for getting the details right Doc and filling in my blanks!

I had a chat this one with Doc couple of months ago.
I wondered the same; and after hard long long search, found QV500 quide being wrong. Doc gaved a simple address and that's it.

That's why I thought exactly same than you Erik. Suddenly when you think you know everything, everything goes upside down.

THIS BPR result page solved my problems then.

Unfortunately this is not the only error they have (copied). I don't know where they have got that 14R took victory in JGTC 1996 round 3 in Sendai on that Major Race Victories 1996 page. Real winner was a Toyota Supra driven by Comas/Takeuchi. 14R driven by Brabham/Nielsen was 8th in that race by the official results, which are many times better source for information than DA or its "derivatives". But somehow that's also then correctly on QV500's GTR'96 chassis page for 14R!

Readers be aware!
