Cooling Water loose and burning smell...

Hi,

on the Lumina from my wife the car is smelling burned every time we drive, that the engine getting warm, plus she is loosing coolant, every 4 weeks we must fill up from cold mark to hot mark.

But the water is nowhere, the oil level is ok, the place where the car stand is dry and clean.

Now my diagnostic is: The upper intake manifold in combination with dex-cool?

Is my diagnostic right? And pls dont tell me something about the lower intake, I hate this job. I have that jo done on my other Lumina.

Oh the engine is 3.8 V6 build 1998...
