New Speakers for 2003 TC

The stock system in this car sounds horrible. I have an 03 Town Car Signature. It's funny because my 01 Continental had a great sounding system... Anyway, I want to replace the speakers and I found some that I like but, it seems they're being discontinued and replaced by these:

However, Crutchfield seems to think they won't fit. Is there a reason? Are they just too deep? Any suggestions? I want something with some decent bass because I don't want to sacrifice crucial trunk space. Of course I don't expect amazing bass from full range speakers either though.

Thanks.

So, those speakers I want are top mount depth of 2.75". They should fit then because I should have 3"?

Regarding clearance, that's what I'm seeing seeing on the chart, 3". I have the JBL brand since I didn't have to pay for them.. plenty of room in the 1996.

I think the depth was a bit conservative on mine... just saying.

Well I went to Pioneer's website and they said that their speaker that Crutchfield said fits and the one they said didn't fit, are in fact the same size. Maybe because the Pioneer TSD6802R is a new speaker Crutchfield hasn't listed them as fitting the 03 TC.
