Completed Mercedes Benz SL63 AMG

What a great kit by Aoshima. My only harangue is the chassis and body mating. The front just doesn't seem to want to stay together. Other than that this kit was engineered very well and I really liked the way some assemblies when together. Especially the head and tail light areas.

Aoshima Mercedes Benz SL63 AMG
Scalefinishes Mercedes 799 Diamond White
Aoshima 20" Leon Hardiritt Bugel wheels
Interior is carbon fiber on console and door panels with Tamiya Dull Red and Testors Navy Aggressor gray interior.

I do know I'll get the usual "it needs to be lower in the front" so we can go ahead and let that already be known.

Couple pics of the final product. Will get outdoor shots later when it warms up. Then we can see the beautiful pearl pop!

More MBSL63 AMG here.

Re: Completed Mercedes Benz SL63 AMG

Looks very very menacing! I am building one with similar color combination

Any reason why your front wheels look like it needs to be lowered? Mine doesn't seem to have the same problem?

Re: Completed Mercedes Benz SL63 AMG

Yes, I agree with the lowering. I'm having a difficult time with the chassis front mating to the body. I also installed the springs that came with the kit. Thus the reason for it being high. I did mention it in my initial post though.

EDIT: Alright guys, I got medieval on the chassis and finally got the thing to snap into place like it should have done to begin with. IT is much lower now. Thanks for getting me to look at it a little bit harder! Will have outdoor pics in a bit.

Re: Completed Mercedes Benz SL63 AMG

As I mentioned earlier the front tab had not seated correctly and I have since gotten it in the tab. Now it sits correctly.
I now will share some outdoor shots I took of the car:
Check out that drop on the front suspension now! YAY!

Thanks again for the comments guys.

Nice job! Did you choose to leave the tonneau cover body color?

Thank you! Yes I did.

I had no fitment issues with my bumpers. I do agree that there could be a better system for attaching them though.

Agreed. I used Formula 560 and Tamiya tape to keep my sanity. Aoshima's own build was pretty sloppy.

I utilized 5 minute epoxy on the front. I have to be more careful though.....LOL
