remote trunk release?????????

I have a 2002 mustang gt and on both of my remotes the trunk release button will not work. It has worked for about 3 months ever since I got it from the dealer. I checked all the wires and I did not find anything wrong. The button in the glove box works so I think it is not a motor or anything. The battery was disconnected for 2 days I dont know if they have became unprogrammed some how. All the other functions of the remote works such as door unlock/lock alram on/off. So I have no clue what it is. If it is not programmed can I program it myself some how. Thanks for your help.

Are the remotes for an aftermarket alarm or do the new mustangs come with those cheap factory (lock, unlock) transmitters? I know on my remotes that if i put them down near my subs in the trunk will de-code them. They will also not work properly if the battery inside isn't putting out a full charge. I can re-code them myself, but all systems are different and my method more then likely won't work on yours.

They are what came with the car from the dealer. They are not stock ford ones though. I had an alarm put on the car from the dealer. I think that they are getting a full battery charger but I don't know. How do you re-code them yourself. It might works who knows. Thanks

I'm pretty sure all systems are different in the way to code the transmitters. Since you had the dealer install the alarm I would bring it back there. They should be able to either reprogram the transmitter or or fix it if there is a internal problem. I would bet its still covered under the warrenty too.

Well I took it to the dealer and it was covered under warranty. It turned out to be the fuse. Not the one for the trunk release which is 25 but the one that came with the alarm for the trunk remote. I did not know that they had one. Thanks for all your help. :sun:
