i read a lengthy analysis about subbox placement. i forgot what site, but ill see if i can find it. basically it talked about soundwave movement and cancellation, and how to get the best performance from your subs. and the best results supposedly came when the box was placed facing and nearest the taillights.
i wanted to keep that same affect, but move the box closer to the rearseats, so i could leave trunk space. if all that is true, would bolting a fake wall to the front of the subbox create the same affect? and would using wood be ok, or should i use metal or plexiglass? here's a cheap sketch of what im talking about doing.

that would only work if the board was sealed against the top of the trunk, the floor of the trunk, and the sides. The reason why it says that it's best close to the back by the taillights is because the bass bounces off of that and shoots towards the front of the car (there's more to it, that's just the jist of it). So if you had a board there and it wasn't completely sealed like the back of your car, then it would just mess up the sound waves cause no gain, maybe even some loss.
