Smile Re: Odd Sound from Right Headlight Assembly

the left one looks like worn bushings at the motor or lower link. the right one w/the noise sounds like the gear inside is striped. i have been told you can take the gear out and rotate it 180 deg. and the problem will be fixed. i tried that only to find out my gear had shattered. could try a salvage yard for parts as those parts are costly. i like the videos, they are better at diagnostics. one persons tap is another persons knock.

Re: Odd Sound from Right Headlight Assembly

if you plan on keeping the car for any significant length of time i would buy replacement aluminum gears instead of replacing the whole motor. http://rodneydickman.com/n113.html this link takes you to a guy who sells a nice kit with detailed instructions. Fix it once with these parts and you will never have to touch it again. I actually bought a few of these kits in anticipation of my headlights failing. Havent had to install yet though.

Re: Odd Sound from Right Headlight Assembly

Here's the fix for this problem. I did this a few years back and the problem hasn't come back and it didn't cost me anything except my time.
