91 LX engine swap.

Question. Is it possible to swap in a 91' 5.0 engine, into a 91' 4 banger LX. Without any major complications?

You'll have to change the whole driveline.

Okay, what about engine mounts, wiring, etc.

I can pickiup a wrecked 5.0 for $600. I was just wondering what all would need to be swapped over.

you'll have to change quite a bit of changes, but its a popular thing that many have done. Here's a list if some of the stuff you will need.

motor mounts
fuel lines
trans
rearend
front springs (if you don't want the ghetto lowering springs)
suspension (everything is different on the V8's)

HiFlow50,

Your engine bay is like clean Very nice. I wish mine looked half that good. By the way, good sound advice.

Hey thanks Skyline, I've worked very hard on that car. But you know you spend too much time with your car when your girlfriend gets jelious of your ride, lol.

Oh and kbslacker I forgot to mention that, yes you will need a alot of new wiring. And not to mention a new ECM as well, but since you said you have a donor car then I think your on the right track.

Cool, thanks for that info. I just need to decide if it's worth it.
