Early model year Escape owners....

We are starting to notice a trend in brake hoses cracking and or failing on early model years of this vehicle. If you own one and have not replaced the brake hjoses recently it may not be a bad idea to get them checked. It is not uncommon for all four (with 4 wheel disk) to be cracked. Rear hoses with rear drum brakes do not seem to be affected as much.

It has become fairly common for one of the fronts, usually the drivers side, to blow suddenly causing the brake pedal to drop and drastically reducing your braking ability.

The Front hoses can be found in the aftermarket. The rear hoses I'm not sure. I do know that ford has them on national backorder at this time.
