flocking..... >_<

I went to hobby lobby today to look for flocking and I just confused myself....

I didn't ask anyone who worked there cuz I was in a hurry but I could not find "flocking".

I found some Turf which I guess is kinda the same thing but they only had it in green and tan. Could I just use this and spray it whatever color I want?? Or should I just try to order some online in the color I want??

any help would be nice.

Turf is NOT flocking.
Find the stuff you need and don't waste your time and money.

Turf is used for dioramas, as in "grass".

If you are looking for flocking at any Craft store that doesn't specialize in models then you need to look towards the card making or scrap book section. You'll find flocking there.

The turf will not be a good substitute for flocking. It looks to be a very fine texture inside its packaging, but when you apply it to your model it will come out all lumpy and out of scale. Keep looking for the flocking until you find it, or try the embossing powder you'll find at the craft store in the scrap booking isle. Use it like you would flocking. The results will be different then the felt flocking you may be looking for, but it still looks convincing.

I am pretty sure Hobby Lobby has quit stocking the testors flocking material (which sucks anyway) that they used to have. I'd just get some on line or try the stuff in the craft/scrap booking section. I haven't looked at the stuff personally, but will next time I go to HL.

I picked up the Martha Stewart brand flocking and was mildly impressed at how fine it was. It looks very good once sifted onto your project. Not sure of all areas but our Michael's craft store had it on clearance for $1.49.
