87 Camry Alltrac Suspension

My Mechanic says I need a new bushing for lower control arm (rear) Toyota dealer says you must buy the whole piece because bushing is not offered separately. Does anyone know if these are offered as aftermarket parts?

I just dropped a ton of money replacing the struts (sometimes wish I didn't own an alltrac). Runs strong @ 188,800 miles but drives like junkright now.

Any suggestions/info would be greatly appreciated!

Re: 87 Camry Alltrac Suspension

I had to bite the bullet and replace one of the rear lateral control rods on my 94 Camry using the Toyota OEM part. There was no aftermarket part available. I think I paid $156 for one about 2 years ago. If you do find one, post back here and let everyone know about it.

Thanks and good luck.

Mike

Re: 87 Camry Alltrac Suspension

I have not seen any replacement bushings for the Camry control arms either. Your control arm is actually two-piece (frt/rear), so you might be able to replace just the arm part you need, but they seem to run $50-75 depending on which part it is and if you need the ball joint as well.

Wow, did another search...I've found one of them available separately but don't know if it is the one you need:

The same place has bushing kits for the 1986 model year, but don't know if that is compatible with the '87. Hope this helps!
