Code po1126 and po325

I have a friend who has a 2000 Nissan Altima. He recently had his car in for an oil change, and the next day after that his check engine light came on. The place who did his oil change said the codes were po1126, and po325. Can anyone tell me what these are, and how to fix them ourselves. We are trying to save him some money if we can. Thank you!!

Re: Code po1126 and po325

The mechanic should have had the presence of mind to inform you what those codes actually mean. What's funny, is my car also tripped up the P01126 code recently, and I also own a 2000 Altima.

P01126 relates to the "thermostat function", and I actually just replaced my thermostat yesterday, and so far no more problems with the code. This is something you can do yourself if you have 2-3 hours to spend.

P0325 relates to the "knock sensor", and I'm really not familiar with this one; it could be really easy or really difficult to get to.

I would recommend picking up a Haynes manual if you plan to do either of these yourself.

Also, try Googling your trouble codes and you should find some explanations.

Good luck!
