Headgasket Seepage

I did my LIM a while back. Taking my friends advice I avoided going down to the heads when I was arms deep. I have not had any issues but have recently developed some seepage around the heads on the driver side. I'm obviously loosing oil but not at a high enough level to be detectable on the dipstick (after a week).

Should I tear everything down or is seepage normal on older cars? I just recently switched to 5w-30 after running 10 since ive had the car (store was out of 10).

Re: Headgasket Seepage

do you see oil seeping out of the headgasket or just guessing?

i wouldnt think any seepage from the headgasket is normal. I am in the middle of LIM gasket replacement and i did go ahead and pull the heads because its not that much more work... after 180k, my headgasket was still in perfect condition.

other possibilities is valve cover, and there is an oil pressure sensor dead smack in the middle of the block, facing the radiator, that can leak too. cant see it for the exhaust manifold being in the way.
