Re: A - Z of the Mclaren F1

N for Nurburgring?? I know, it's a stretch ... but not a long one.

Less of a stretch for 'O' here, especially since we skipped over the F1 LM at the letter 'L' - I give you Historic Orange.

Re: A - Z of the Mclaren F1

Since 'G' was used for Gordon, why don't we use 'P' for Peter Stevens.

His excellent talents and strong study of his craft brought the F1 a rather timeless design that is really quite appealing to many and part of the reason the F1 has remained in the spotlight after all these years.

The first image is less than flattering perhaps, but I don't have a real photo of him with a McLaren F1 that I can recall (not counting video screengrabs)...

...so here's a more appropriate (albeit very tiny) headshot.

Re: A - Z of the Mclaren F1

Stumbled on the next letter a bit, but came up with -

Penryhn Quarry, location of the Clinic Model photo shoot

If we had struggle for too long with 'Q' I was ready with Quentin Willson, the presenter of 'The Car's the Star - McLaren F1".

Re: A - Z of the Mclaren F1

Realized I had a better photo of Peter Stevens to share - this time with the Clinic Model which is still not a real F1.

Also, a helpful onlooker informed me that Stevens is in the group shot with XP1 found on page 153 of DA. This isn't the greatest reproduction of that image, but he's near the front to the right of the car.

I'm going to attempt to request something a little better.

Z is for the ZAZ Museum - kind of an unassuming place for all the greatness contained on the second floor.

Would you buy a car from a man in a shirt like this, let alone allow him to design you one?
