02 Slilverado thumping sound in the frontend

I have a 02 Silverado Z71 that's making a thumping sound when you travel down a bumpy road. I think I might have found the problem and want to see what others think. The torsion bars go from the front end to a crossmember on the drivers side I can grab the torsion bar and pull down and it seems to make the same sound, on the passerger side its solid and will not move, seems to me its a worn out bushing anyone ever had this problem. Thanks

Quite common for the mounts to wear out. Most auto parts stores have, or can get them, Moog makes them, same company that makes front suspension parts.

did you notice the adjusting screw/stud position and compare with the good side ..It is possible that the torsion bar on the driverside is in need of adjustment...all the lift is being done by the passengerside ...

I have never seen this on my vehicle ,,,last time I adjusted my 2000 sil was in 2001 still correct height...

if the screw has backed out, placing some medium lock tight to hold the stud is recommended...

I think he's referring to the rubber mount between the crossmember and the frame being torn loose. Very common problem.

he stated he can move the torsion bar driverside..this could only be possible if out of adjustment or something has broken..

with the weight of the vehicle being supported by the rotation of the bar this is a good amount of force it its good...

Exactly, the rubber mount breaks loose similar to a motor mount. When it breaks, you can move the crossmember up and down by hand, and doesn't take a whole lot of force to move it. There's one on each side. http://dieselgalaxy.com/product.php?productid=67625
