03 GTI 1.8t airbag light stays on when i drive

i have just recently purchased this vehicle i love it but my airbag light stays on all the time even tho the car has not been into an accident. i was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

go to the dealer, airbags are a scary area for dealerships, lots of potential for lawsuits and the such, so they should get you taken care of at no expense.
FYI, my 01 GTI had the light come on, I brought it in and they cleared the codes, but said if the light comes on again that they legally have to replace the airbag componentry

if it has pre tentioners on the seat belts this is prob the fault check the buckle at the bottom if its pulled tight its gone allso under each front seat is a multiplug if this is lose or broke the light will come on
