Car Show Ideas

If you have some cool Car Show ideas post them. I'm putting on a Car show and need some ideas. It will be Held in Concord CA. Do you think i should do a area of the show just for Civic's/CRX's?

whoa...putting on your own car show is ALOT of work!! beleive me I know.. i put one on in July and it was huge. I had been planning it since last september... it take forever to get the right permits, location, venders, money, prizes, and then people to actually show up. Its not cheap either. we had to get a sponsor so that we could get insurance on our show, the city wanted a 2 million dollar liability coverage. all that costs $$$. some good ideas are to go to your local business, explain what you are doing and see if they can donate a gift certificate, or what whatever. Invite you local stero shop and charge them to have a booth setup. Invite your local tire/wheel shop and charge them. Flip thorough a magazine and call car companies and see if they will donate shit, write to the editor of a car mag and tell them you are having a show and have them post it in there next issue (mags usually want 6 months notice) Then you need to get on the net and tell everyone when and wee to go. the more classes you have, the more people will show, but that also means more money. Buy trophies to give away (exspensive) .
here are the classes i had at my show, and it still didnt cover all that showed up:
mild compact
wild compact
mild mini
wild mini
4X4
Full size truck
under construction
lowest vehicle
highest vehicle
best engine bay
best paint

the one that is very important these days is an SUV class...dont forget that one.

All in all putting on a car show is alot more time and money than you think. you cant just say "lets have a car show next weekend" it takes months in advance to do it good. if you have any questions email me and i'll see if i can help you out anymore. [email protected]
