Angry 99 Ford Taurus transmission stuck in park

Hello all, have a 99 Ford Taurus with the following problems: The shifter will not move form park to any gear, the radio doesn't work, nor does the trunk release, the hood release, and the windows. The headlights and the heater work fine, and it starts right up. I'm leaning toward a relay or a issue with fuses. I did get it to go into gear by taking a piece of wire and sticking it to the main circuit in the fuse box under dash on the drivers side. any help would be greatly appreciated..

Re: 99 Ford Taurus transmission stuck in park

Can you provide more detail as to where you installed the piece of wire, and if you were jumpering across two points?

Also, make sure the brake lights are working when you step on the brake pedal. The stop lamp switch triggers the shift lock solenoid. The more details you can provide regarding what does and does not work, and what you've tried, the better the forum will be able to help.

The hood release is cable actuated so if that doesn't work it shouldn't be due to anything electrical.
