the Mclaren F1...a work of art

Hey guys, just though I would share this link: http://www.classic-car-prints.co.uk/mclaren-f1/ . I got this peice as a gift and it is absolutely amazing and would highly recomend it to any mclaren f1 fans, it is amazing work. I have it hanging up right over my monitor right now. And for the record i have no affiliation with this guy, i have never met him or anything, i just wanted to share this great work so those of you who want one can get one before he sells out...i have number 294 out of 850 and recieved it as a gift 2 years ago, and just now stumbled across the site where my wife bought it from while looking for a high res version of the cutaway mclaren drawings. So if he was on 294 two years ago lord knows how many or how few he has left.

Have a good one!

Re: the Mclaren F1...a work of art

I had that print framed for Richard, the previous owner of chassis #068, as a thank you for his generosity following my encounter with his F1 back in 2005. Notice, I had the inner matting done in purple to match accents in the leather of the driver's seat and the car's matching luggage.

You can see it on the wall behind the car in this shot from his garage:

I had a second one done for his friend Scott, with a more traditional 'McLaren Orange' matting, and there's a third copy that matches that one on the wall behind me right now.

I do have one small issue with it, and if you have not really studied the details you might have missed it. In the close-up of the engine, if you look at the cam cover, in the spot where it should say 'BMW M Power' he chose to write "M Houlden 95". Now I realize artists are free to do as they want, but the detail of the rest of the piece is so exact, that I find his use of creative license there a bit of a disappointment. As it is, the print has his signature in the artwork, and then written below it in the white border it has "Illustration by Martin Houlden" and then his signature one more time off the the right.
