1998 Buick Regal Won't Start Help!

I got stuck in my driveway way and after revving the engine with reverse/drive, I was able to get out. That night I pulled into my driveway and the car started to buck and the check engine light came on. I was able to back into my parking spot. The next morning I went to go start the car and all the lights are nice and bright the radio works but there is no sound not even a click when I go to start it...Can someone help me?

With the information provided, this is hard to troubleshoot this without being onsite. I would start by checking the battery voltage along with the cables to be sure they are clean & tight. What is the security light doing when you turn the ignition switch ON? Does the light go off after a few seconds, or does it continue to flash?

Re: 1998 Buick Regal Won't Start Help!

I have done that, someone said that it might be as simple as a blown fuse or maybe the starter. I was told we can not put it on diagnostics because it won't run. I am just trying to figure out what is wrong so I know approximately I will need to spend to get my car back on the road. I love my car...

Have you checked the coolant level, or looked for the possibility of coolant in the oil? Do you know if you have 12v on the purple wire going to the starter solenoid with ignition switch ON? Have you had the battery load tested? I have seen this happen before when a cell shorts in the battery. It may have 12v, but no amps to activate the solenoid, or starter!

You can connect to diagnostic code reader to read the codes that are stored in it. Also check engine oil & vacuum hoses.
