10 % over drive pulley rubs supercharger snout and slides on by hand

I have a 90 thunderbird sc and i purchased a 10% overdrive pulley! the pulley slides on by hand and the pulley rubs on the supercharger snout!is there something im missing ?or should i be sending this back to the manufacturer?
