1997 Saturn sl SOHC dies?
This problem started yesterday i was driving down the road for about 35min and i noticed that all of a sudden my speedometer drop to 0 the went back to normal. When i left work the car started fine and ran fine, as i was driving down the freeway it died and i mean died. No power at all, the radio even reset itself. no light no blinkers no nothing. As i was moving over the power came back on and i was able to hit the ignition and the car started and ran fine for the 50 miles home. I got up this morning and went to drive it to the parts store, when i got to the traffic light about two miles away it died again. and there was nothing, no electrical power at all. no emergency blinkers no radio no nothing. I pushed it through intersection on and started checking everything the Radio clock was dimly showing but no power no chimes no nothing. I got out an looked at the fuse box and could not find anything it also would not pop the trunk from the left side of the drivers seat which is also powered. i walked to the parts store came back i turned the lights on they came on and everything came back on. the car started right up. I took it over to the parts store and had the battery tested both voltage and load. everything checked out. I drove the car home and started looking for anything that could shut the entire electrical down. i disconnected the battery cables from the battery. they were very clean. i check the positive going to the junction box and it was clean. I pulled the two grounds on the drivers side of the body and the two on the driver side of the engine block, could not find anything. i did not see any other grounds in the engine compartment. I do not know where there is a fusible link if any that would control all the voltage. or a main relay the would have that much control. The thing that messes me up is that the only electrical was a dim reset clock on the radio, no other power. Any ideas? Thanks |

Re: 1997 Saturn sl SOHC dies?
Fusible link is between the alternator and starter.
Unfortunately I have no ideas for such an event
