Code P1406
I have a 97 GP GTP with 240,000 miles. I got the "service engine soon" light and I took it to auto store for diagnosis and they gave me a code (P1406). It read something like "EGR Position Circuit". Can someone shed some light on what code P1406 stand for?
Thanks in advance. |

Re: Code P1406
It means there is an EGR pintle position error. Either a short or open in the electrical part of the EGR, closed valve position is too high or position error too high. You can try cleaning the EGR pintle. If that doesn't work then the electrical part of the EGR is bad.
