93 astro floods, won't start

I replaced the spider, fuel pump, cap plugs, wires, good spark at the plugs, no codes, when I try to start it after sitting over night it fires but won't keep running, then I get alot of gas fumes. vacuum lines are all good. cleaned the egr passages. fuel pressure is good. cranked it over today with the plennum off and injectors out,, and it pumps lots of fuel thru the poppets. van has about 250 K miles on it.

Have you checked fuel pressure and leakdown? Key on, engine off, fuel pump running: Pressure must be 55psi to 61psi and must remain above 50psi for 3 to 5 minutes after the fuel pump shuts off. Post your results.

Re: 93 astro floods, won't start

check to make sure the fuel pressure regulator is not faulty. On my old 93 W code, it would leak out of the weep hole. With the plenum off, cycle the key to make the fuel pump come on and see if it is leaking. Mine would start by holding the accelerator to the floor but, you would have to drive with both feet to keep it running. The Old Master disagrees with me on my test procedure without taking the plenum off. The way I tested it with taking the plenum off was to pull the center spark plug on the passenger side. If it smelled of fuel, I would then pull the plenum and visually inspect the fuel pressure regulator. On the spider, I would pull the center on the driver's side.
