1995 Buick Regal Smokin Hot!!!!

I have a friend with a 95 regal with the 3800 engine. we replaced the radiator and the thermostat in the car, but for some odd reason, there is smoke coming from the sides of the engine and i detect a faint smell of burnt oil. now before we replaced the parts i told him not to drive the car too much for fear he would crack his head gasket. now i dont know what happened after we replaced the radiator but the low coolant light is on and we topped off the radiator and also we made sure the oil was filled up. its very cold out here in southwest ohio and maybe something got spilled on the engine block because ive never seen a oil leak as bad as this car seems to have one. any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

The lower intake manifold gaskets fail quite often on the VIN L 3800 engines (the Series I 3800 with the composite/plastic upper intake plenum) installed between 1993 and 1995. The sides/rails on the front and rear of the lower intake manifold gasket (right and left side of car respectively) blow out, and will fail again if not replaced correctly. I had this occur on a 1995 Regal I once owned.

I'm not saying that this is infact the problem in this case, but it certainly is possible.
